Janet and I met in real time. Although, even though I drove for six hours to get to Ann Arbor, she did all the work to make it happen. She drove two hours from her hometown just so we could meet in person and chat. For this I am grateful. Some people wouldn't do that for their first cousins...not to mention mother in the same breath. This is a testament for the wonderful gaian relationships I have formed with so many nice people. And I loved our little meeting, and I encourage each and every one of you (if you haven't done so already) to do the same. But, saying that, I also respect a person's need to stay anonymous...however....being real is more fun than being paranoid. I knew I was going to have to have my guard up with Janet (she's got two black belts you know) but I also knew enough to go with my gut feeling too. When she first arrived in Ann Arbor and I was walking down to street to greet her, I made sure I was ready to protect my mid section just in case she attempted to thrust a kick my way. I was tentative at first, but as we got closer to each other, she kinda gave me this little smirk and gleam, and I knew it was OK for us to hug. It was a very nice and warm gaian hug... but I got called for holding, and she pulled out a whistle from her back pocket, blew it hard...and I got a two minute penalty. Now, I'm going to say something that I dislike immensely (hate) when I hear other people use this phrase...but seriously folks..I mean, that's as bad as doing lol all the time or he he he, or even haha. So, the point is, Janet and I were finally able to transcend that hehe, haha lol kind of relationship. You can't hide the truth all that well when you're face to face. So in our chat, we learned a lot about each other. We inflected, we smirked, we listened, we allowed for our friendly vibes to bounce off each other, we broke bread...and it was in all the simple ordinary day to day, person to person stuff that we got a lot closer than our fingers hitting letters on a keyboard. And once again, I am grateful that she took the time, to drive my way. And, by the way, she can drive a stick shift. And she also has all these crazy sticks in her car to beat you up and fend you off...just in case you get too close. I love her dearly (actually dearly is another stupid word) (how about a lot instead) (you see how awkward this medium can get) I hope she likes the picture I posted. And I also would like to meet with her again, just so we could continue our conversation about Babette's Feast and Portland, Oregon & her mom and dad & sisters too, as well as other stuff.

Unlike the compassionate and spiritually aware Mimi, I am deeply disappointed that she didn't beat you up, but hey. You can't get everything you want. LOL :)
God! WHY do I enjoy teasing you so much??? I'm just sitting her typing and giggling like an idiot. Anyway, it's odd. She looks like somebody I already know, but how could I possibly have ever met her? I guess it's just that way with Gaians… Glad you guys had fun and connected in the real world! Joy and peace to you.

Ladies, he was the perfect gentleman, and therefore was never at risk. We had a great time; his kids are wonderful young people who obviously think highly of their dad. That was really wonderful to see.
He's made me sound so violent….maybe he will need a little drop kick after all, now that I have a rep to live up to;-) But you'd never know it from the photo though would you?

Maze is a lucky dude!!! and I love that martha gets such a kick (((oops gettting violent in my thinking again)))) out of teasing you tom!!!! and I've seen and heard martha giggle face to face … and it is total delight!!!
now … what's this talk about Portland, OR???? Does this mean you are both coming to meet with all of at the end of September? yep, Carla will be here and we be celebratin' … come on OVER!!!
Oh my Lord! Peri, if you and Carla and Tom are all together in Oregon, and I'm stuck here in Phoenix, I'll just DIE. ….even if Carla DOES come to see me. I miss you, Peri. (little tear running down my cheek…) Apple and I were just talking about you today, actually. We miss you a lot! and Maze, you KNOW I definitely want to meet you. And I'm only a “camo” belt. So I'm not even dangerous or anything…

Carla will be here in Portland (after a visit to Aley and Keith in Sea-Tac) at the end of September … I'm just trying to LURE Janet and Maze out this way!!!

'You can't hide the truth all that well when you're face to face'.. well said, Tom. I think that we can also be our truth face to face in the virtual sense, when we choose to. Thank you for sharing your meet with Janet & for posting the picture of her… doesn't she just have the most wonderful eyes? Every bit of energy that I sense from looking at her in that moment, is soo how I percieve Janet in this paralel universe… strong, sweet, honest & loving. Yes, I'm a tad envious right now that I'm on a different continent. On the other hand, I'm safe cuz knowing me, I would not have been able to resist the temptation of a lil surprise attack on Janet just to see how fast she is & I would have been biting the dust in the flickr of an eye.
I think you're onto something, Maze. Pilgrimages to make the virtual into the reality. Nice.

One day, I'll break bread with some of my Gaia friends, too. In the meantime, I never doubt that there are real people on the other end of this net connection. Thanks for sharing this special get together with us, Tom.
Janet is another in a long line of gaian beauties. I am sure you have all noticed the beaming gorgeous faces of the ladies here.
But, I never would have guessed under that Mona Lisa smile is the heart of a warrior. WhooHoo. you rock! Janet.
I like what you and Tara (and perhaps others here) said about the deeper relationships that can perhaps be formed once you add the dimension of face-to-face meeting. Not that it can't happen here on this on-line world, but there's something special about actually meeting and sharing. Thanks for the picture of Janet, as well. This is great.

I am doing the grand tour of Western Gaians. I can’t wait! It is so much fun to meet. All of you here are on my list. Maze you old homebody, I guess I’ll have to parachute out of a plane over Buffalo one day, unless you and the bride decide to take that long awaited vacation in Maine.
I've read Janet's and now your story! It's so touching and makes me yearn to get to meet one face to face as well and I just got a message from someone close by and it just might happen within this month. Yay!
Face to face meets must be magical as two auras and energies converge. It's empowering!

How cool! While I am still having limited Gaia time you guys are all getting together in real time and it is sooooo cool! Oh, I would drive 2 hours to meet you! Maybe even six! I think it is awesome that you all are having fabulous connections. Makes me want to travel even more. Also, makes me wonder how many have had past life connections and are recognizing one another and therefore drawn to make a this life connection? Just me wondering…you know Scorpios…inquiring minds want to know.
